Highly qualified and motivated staff are the face of Future Computers. Our technical and sales team combine to ensure you are provided with the correct solution the first time, offering presales and post sales advice.

Our sales staff ensures they stay up to date with current product ranges and offerings from our vendors to ensure you get the best deals available.

Our technical staff has extensive experience and are able to offer a full range of IT services including on-site services, workshop repairs and the highest level network support across various platforms.

Our administration staff ensures that all transactions with us run smoothly.

Although we list 3 departments we operate as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and expectations are met at all times...

Meet the Team

Sales

Andrew Bischof – Director/Sales Manager

Background: Andrew originally started his working life as an apprentice motor mechanic. Upon completing this he then went on to complete an auto electrical apprenticeship also undertaking a number of automotive courses along the way. Utilising these qualifications he started a service company that he still runs today.

The move into computers came about with the opportunity to buy Future Computers. As one of the owner/directors of Future my main focus is to ensure the continued viability and growth of the company. Other roles also include sales, marketing and product management ensuring Future is able to offer the latest technologies available to our customers.

Job Functions: Sales as an account manager, marketing and product research.

Work Goals: To ensure customers are satisfied with our service and to create a good working environment for all of our staff.

Interests: Dirt Bikes, Golf, AFL football (the real game) and Beach Volleyball.

Craig Lowish – Account Manager

Background: Craig started his career working for Dick Smith Electronics straight out of school. He developed his sales skills & was promoted to assistant management in Nelson, New Zealand. Moving to Australia late 2004 he continued his career with Dick Smith Electronics managing stores in Brisbane. He then pursued a new role as the Account Manager in a large QLD air conditioning manufacturer specialising in electronics and controls. He was in charge of sales & distribution for Australia, which helped him create & develop strong business relationships with their broad range of customers. Moving to Cairns July 2007, he pursued his passion in IT & is happy to be onboard the Future Computers team.

Job Functions: Sales as an account manager, preparing & testing desktop & laptop computers.

Work Goals:  To look after all of our customers while giving them a personalized service they will remember & come back for.

Interests: Gaming, Girls, Partying, Beer

 

Technical

Dylan Nelsson – Service Manager

Background: Soon after leaving high school in the late 80’s, Dylan actively pursued a career in I.T and studied at the newly built Information Technology Centre in Preston, England. While working part time at his fathers I.T Company he obtained a Class 1 distinction in ‘Computer Literacy and Information Technology’.

Most of Dylan’s professional career has been in Australia since he and his wife emigrated from England in 1992. Managing his own Sydney Company in 2000 saw Dylan further develop his management skills and obtain several Certifications – one of which was ‘Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer 2003’.

Selling the business in Sydney, Dylan and the family made the move to Cairns for a welcomed ‘sea change’. Soon after arriving he joined Future Cairns where he now holds the position of Technical Services Manager.

Job Functions: To facilitate technical services and support to Future’s customers.

Work Goals:  Assist with the growth of the company and provide first class I.T services to regional Australia

Interests: Music (heavy!), Playing guitar, My Family!

Wayne Oldrey – Senior Network Technician

Background: Wayne originally started his working life as a trainee systems operator, learning the ropes on mini computer and mainframe hardware such as the once common DEC Micro Vax and other systems such as the Burroughs B26 and the WANG VS series of mainframe computers through the late 80’s into the 90’s, where he moved onto several different positions within state and federal government within information systems and communications as both a sysop and service engineer.

In the late 90’s, Wayne branched out on his own, successfully running a small business specialising in sales, service and support of both PC and Mac based systems and servers in Brisbane. The desire to move north leads him to his current position at Future Cairns Pty Ltd in 2005 as one of 2 senior engineers with the company.

Job Functions: Server and Infrastructure support, Systems solution planning and implementation

Work Goals: To provide Future Customers with high levels of service and support, with an uncompromising attitude towards high levels of customer satisfaction.

Interests: Hiking, Swimming, Computer Games, Good food and travel.

Enzo Ruggeri – Workshop Technician

Background:  After  Enzo finished school he went on to Tafe and done a Diploma in IT Applied Business, and then went onto study at JCU and finished with a Bachelor of Information Technology, while Enzo was studying for his diploma and degree he was working as a security office/crowd controller and also working casually for a small computer store. After Enzo finished his degree he started working for Cape York Land Council as a Systems Administrator, He was there for 12 months before moving on to work for Future Cairns.

Job Functions: Remote Support, Helpdesk/Phone support Workshop and Onsite support.

Work Goals: Repair and diagnose systems, keeping the customer satisfied and happy with the repair and assist as best as possible for better solutions.

Interests: Soccer, Martial Arts, Music/Movies and Hibernating

Todd Place – Workshop Technician

Background: Todd originally started in the mining game working in both Open Cut and Underground sectors.  Leaving the mines after about 5 years to pursue his interest in Information Technology, he starting at Mackay Christian College as I.T Manager and then moving to Townsville for a brief 2 years at another college as I.T Manager finally moving back to Mackay.  Working as Tech Bay Manager at Harvey Norman and running his own side business he then felt a calling back to the mines where he spent another 3 years as Underground Supervisor for Andersons and Ventmine.  Then eventually taking on the Contract Co-ordinators role with Minova Australia looking after Ventmine and Ground Consolidation.  Moving with his wife to Cairns for a bit of a change of scenery and a break from the mines ended up at Future Computers.

Job Functions: Technical Support and Repair.

Work Goals: To give the best standard of work possible.  To ensure the best turn around in time factors for customers.

Interests: Computers, Game Consoles, Cricket, Movies and anything Technical.

 

Administration

Quita Barron – Director / Financial Controller

Background: Originating from Melbourne, Quita Barron has been with Future Computers since January 1999.  After completing an Office Administration Certificate sometime in the 80's, Quita held a couple of interesting positions with Law firms around Melbourne. She then went on to work for Mita Copiers Australia Pty Ltd for 10 years in the capacity of Service Administrator followed by Administration Manager. When Mita decided to send all their administrative operations to Sydney, Quita took the opportunity to travel overseas and outback Australia. This led her to Cairns in November 1998, and together with Andrew, purchased Future in 2002.

Job Functions: Finance and Administration

Work Goals: To ensure the team always know they are my priority and to provide the best possible service. Always

Interests: Reading, Music, Movies, Camping

Jessica Donald – Service Coordinator / Customer Service

Background:  Originally from the Sunshine Coast, Jessica came to Cairns in 1999. Soon after leaving school she pursued a career in the retail sector. A diversion from the retail market and Jessica's passion for a role in the IT industry won her the job here at Future as our frontline receptionist in 2006 (or Manager of First Impressions!) where her outgoing and 'bubbly' personality continued to improve the customer service levels Future Computers is known for. During Jessica's time here she obtained her Certificate III in Business Administration and further developed her administration and Customer Service skills; eventually working her way up to the current position of 'Service Co-ordinator' in 2007.

Job Functions:  The responsibility of providing the co-ordination of technical services to Future's expanding client base. 

Work Goals: To maintain and improve the overall Customer Service levels to our customers. 

Interests:  Music, Camping, fashion and Water sports, annoying Dylan :)

Jade Tait – Reception / Customer Service

Background:    Jade recently relocated from Airlie Beach where she worked in the Tourism Industry as an Assistant Reservations Manager for a large tourism transport operator. Jade is excited about her career change from tourists to business professionals and looks forward to creating professional friendships with our clients.

Job Functions: Answering the main switch board, front counter service and assisting with all office duties when required.

Work Goals: To ensure all customers are given the best service.

Interests: Painting (all arts), catching up with friends.
